The short term forecast for Erie, Niagara, Chautauqua, and Cattaraugus counties. A batch of light showers ahead of a weak cold front advancing from west to east will cross western New York late this morning and into the early afternoon hours. At 1130 am these showers were along the Eastern Lake Erie shoreline and crossing into western Erie and western Niagara counties. Rain will reach the vicinities of Bemus Point..Eden...Buffalo and Niagara Falls between 1130 am and 1215 PM. Later rain will be in the vicinities of Jamestown...Alden...and Newfane between noontime and 1 PM. Expect rain to last for roughly two hours with total rainfall about a tenth of an inch or less. Winds early this afternoon will remain out of the south to southwest at 10 to 20 mph.
