A trough of low pressure will bring wet conditions to eastern China on Saturday. The system is expected to bring moderate to heavy showers and thunderstorms to Shanghai in the morning, then it will pass over South Korea on its way to Japan by Saturday evening. This system will also bring warmer temperatures as it pushes in warmer air from the south. Expect showers over Shanghai with a high near 80(F)/ 27(C) while Tokyo will see similar weather with a high near 82(F)/ 28(C).
To the south, wet weather is expected to continue along the coast of the South China Sea on Saturday. Onshore flow will bring warm and moist air into southeastern China, allowing for afternoon showers and thunderstorm development. Hong Kong will be rainy with a high near 82(F)/ 28(C).
To the west, wet weather will persist on Saturday. Humid conditions are expected from Nepal to Cambodia but the strongest storms with heavy downpours are likely over northern Thailand and Laos.
In Australia, a low pressure system in the east will slowly move out of the region. However, it will continue to bring showers to the coastal regions of New South Whales on Saturday. Sydney will see cloudy skies with scattered showers and a high near 64(F)/ 18(C). In the west, a trough will move through Western and Southern Australia on Saturday. Thus, expect widespread scattered showers along the coast of the Great Australian Bight.
Arizona suffered another disaster due to nature today in 1975. Very strong winds caused dust to blow across portions of Interstate 10 which aided in a 22 car pileup. Two people were killed and fourteen were injured.
